Construction of the First Federal Plaza began in April 1974
and was completed in Spring of 1976. The 309-foot, 21-story
building was opened to its first tenants shortly thereafter,
in June 1976. The First Federal Plaza and its architectural
team of Corgan, Balestiere and Leaper went on to win the People's
Choice Award sponsored by the Rochester Chapter of the American
Institute of Architects in 1977.
